Allosaurus, a member of the Carnosauria clade
Carnosauria is a large group of predatory dinosaurs that lived during the Jurassic and Cretaceous period. This group includes only Allosaurs and their closest kin, such as Carcharodontosaurids. Around 90 MYA, they disappeared and went extinct. It's unknown why, but it's likely competition with Tyrannosaurs and Abelisauroidea.

Carnosauria general characteristics include large eyes, a long narrow skull, and some modifications of the legs, such as the femur being longer than the tibia.
